Summertime Baking

I'm officially free from 4th grade until August which hopefully means lots of baking time.  There is already a list in the making of what I want to bake (sounds silly now that I type it out).

Up first, I really needed to make a tiered cake.  I've had a lot of random people asking me lately if I do wedding cakes so I thought I was up for the challenge.  Of course this isn't for a wedding but it would make a very lovely cake for a small garden/backyard wedding.

Now for the inspiration:  I have a slight obsession with Anthropologie catalogues and have saved a lot of them for some future moment that I thought may occur.  This cover shot from the December 2007 issue is one of the loveliest photos I've ever laid eyes on and I thought it would translate well into cake.
The color of the flowers, the wallpaper, and red hair are just far too lovely together.  I wonder if I'm the only one to translate Anthropologie into cake?  I'm very excited about this cake and just have to finish up the fondant flowers tomorrow so hopefully I'll have it posted soon.  Have I mentioned how much I love this photo????

I'm dying to see this cake! That's so funny that you found your inspiration in the Anthropologie catalog.
